Women's Soccer Coaches' Poll

ASTON, PA - The Colonial States Athletic Conference recently announced the women's soccer preseason coaches' poll, with the Crimson Eagles garnering a seventh place tally in the votes.

Led by first year head coach Dewey Landon, the soccer team will look to improve upon last season's 3-7 finish within the league. The squad will rely heavily upon a veteran defensive core that returns four of five starters from a year ago, a group that allowed a respectable mark of 2.51 goals per game within conference action.

Marywood University secured the top slot in the poll as the 2009 conference runner-up returns eight starters to their line-up for the upcoming campaign. The Pacers secured five first place votes and 114 total points, while the 2009 CSAC champion - Cabrini College - collected 108 total points and four first place selections to place second in the standings.

The Crimson Eagles garnered 39 points in the poll, edging out three teams in the process. Picked eighth in last year's preseason poll, the team will look to produce their first winning season since joining the CSAC two years ago. PBU has gone 6-14 against league competition during that span.

PBU opens up their upcoming season on Wednesday, September 1st when the group heads to Delaware Valley College for a 3:00 tilt against the Aggies.
