LANGHORNE, PA – The Department of Athletics is pleased to announce the hiring of Dewey Landon as head coach of the Crimson Eagle women’s soccer program.

The sixth coach in the program’s 11 year history, Landon brings a tremendous amount of experience to the Crimson Eagle sidelines, having served in the coaching ranks in various capacities since 1980. A three year starter at Houghton College during his collegiate days, Landon had an outstanding career as a player, helping the Highlanders capture the 1979 NCCAA National Championship before moving on to play for several ministry-oriented soccer organizations post-graduation.

Kicking off his coaching career at Genesee Community College nearly 30 years ago, Landon has spent time working with numerous high school and club programs in the New York and New Jersey areas throughout the years. He most recently served for seven years as an assistant with the girl’s varsity program at The Pilgrim Academy in Egg Harbor City, New Jersey.

“Teaching the game of soccer and mentoring student-athletes is a huge privilege that I look forward to,” Landon said. “My desire is to see each player reach her full potential spiritually, academically, and athletically while at the same time improving the results on the field.”

With the team finishing just 5-13-1 a season ago, Landon will look to guide the Crimson Eagles to their first winning season since 2007.

"Dewey brings an incredible amount of soccer experience and knowledge to the table," said Director of Athletics, Drew Watson.  "I'm excited to see how that experience shows itself on and off the field this season."

Landon and his wife Suzanne currently reside in Little Egg Harbor, NJ.   He also has two daughters who both enjoy soccer.
