LANGHORNE, PA - The 2010 NECVA Men’s Volleyball All-Conference awards were recently announced, with three Crimson Eagles garnering several prestigious awards.
In addition to being named to the NECVA First Team as well as the Western Division First Team, junior outside hitter Justin Brubaker (Telford, PA) became the first player in NECVA history to be tabbed a divisional player of the year three consecutive seasons following his most recent nomination as the top player in the Western Division. Perhaps even more impressively, Brubaker became the first player in PBU history to be honored as the NECVA Player-of-the-Year, an award that goes to the best player amongst the 44 team field the as voted by the league’s coaches. The 6’4 outside hitter led all of NCAA III in kills per set for the second consecutive season, drilling 5.90 spikes per game – a number that stands over one full kill higher than the second place finisher nationally. Able to get the job defensively as well, Brubaker recorded 2.93 digs per game, good enough to place him 16th across the country. Brubaker’s 14 double-doubles on the year mark a career high and his 42 kills during a match against Hope International University stands as the most kills during a single contest in program history.
Junior Drew Dillon (Mount Joy, PA) joined Brubaker on the NECVA First Team All-Conference squad as well as the Western Division First Team after finishing second nationally in assists per game throughout the regular season, dishing out 13.1 helpers per set.
