LANGHORNE, PA - The 2010 version of the annual Crimson Eagle Athletic Banquet was held over the weekend, with eight PBU athletes garnering special recognition for their efforts as student-athletes.

The description of each award is listed below, along with a quote from each player's respective coach. Congratulations to each of the following student-athletes!

CLARENCE E. MASON ATHLETIC AWARD
The Clarence E. Mason Athletic Award is given to the senior student-athlete who has made the greatest contribution to the athletic program of PBU. The athlete must be willing to cooperate with team members, exhibit leadership in practice and in game situations, and exhibit a high degree of sportsmanship.

Leandro Dueck

Jade Brubaker, Men's Volleyball Head Coach: "Leo received this award because of his goal of giving all out effort to honor the Lord in how he played. Through his play he provided great leadership to make our team like a family. His consistent and standout play along with his character was a huge reason for our team’s success these past four years."

Danielle Norton

Drew Watson, Women's Basketball Head Coach: "Dani Norton not only broke the school scoring record for a women’s player, she became the first to surpass the 2,000 point mark. I could go on about Dani’s awards and accomplishments on the court but that would be missing the point. Dani’s amazing abilities on the court make her an MVP, but her character has made what she has done on the court something she does, not who she is. That is unique and that is remarkable."

RANDY OSTEIN AWARD

The Randy Ostein Award is given to the senior student-athlete who has a courageous attitude in spite of injury or hardship. The athlete exhibits the highest degree of sportsmanship and concern for others.

Sarah Oessenich

Drew Watson, Women's Basketball Head Coach: "Sarah is what I call a warrior. She is a competitor who, over the past four years, has battled through a fractured foot, multiple concussions, a neck injury, shoulder injury, and a knee injury. She missed all but three games last year and played in only 16 games this year but has invested in the team in many different ways. She has taught all of us through her example of perseverance."

DAN RICHNER ATHLETIC AWARD

The Dan Richner Athletic Award is given to the senior student-athlete who exhibits an attitude of Christlike leadership, who is a teachable and coachable student athlete, and who exhibits effort, determination, perseverance, dedication, commitment and responsibility. A cumulative GPA of 2.7 or higher is required.

Lindsey Fornwalt

Drew Watson, Women's Basketball Head Coach: "Lindsey worked hard despite nagging hip and hand injuries throughout her career. In fact, she worked so hard that many times I forgot that she even had the injuries in the first place. That’s the story on the court but off the court Lindsey gets involved in the lives of her teammates and pours into them with love, giving whatever is needed to help, encourage, or meet whatever need there may be. She is a shining example of what the PBU student-athlete should be all about. "

Joshua Morrison

Clay Roberts, Men's Soccer Head Coach: "Josh has been a tremendous young man to coach. He has been a constant leader on our team through his extreme work-ethic on the field, his Christ-centered maturity, and his ability to encourage teammates. No matter what the situation, Josh displayed a Christ-like attitude, whether that be through hardships with injuries or his successes as an NCCAA All-Region selection. I truly believe Josh will move on in life and demonstrate these same qualities wherever the Lord may take him."

DAVID C. UNGER AWARD

The David C. Unger Award is given to the senior student-athlete who has contributed the most to the athletic program through service, faithfulness, and spirit. The athlete is described as having the true love of participation.

Tanya Jendrek
Tanya Jendrek

Jade Brubaker, Women's Volleyball Head Coach: "Whether it was on the court or off Tanya gave our team a great spirit of enjoyment and love for the game. She always worked hard and gave her best effort in every task she took on. These past three years Tanya has been able to honor the Lord through her faithful service to PBU athletics and the volleyball team."

Jeremy Keating

Jade Brubaker, Men's Volleyball Head Coach: "Jeremy’s true love of competition comes out whether he is playing or cheering his team on. These past four years Jeremy has consistently given his best by providing great leadership for our team with an encouraging attitude. Above all Jeremy loved the Lord and wanted to honor Him in how he loved and supported his teammates."

WAYNE C. FINK AWARD

The Wayne C. Fink Award is presented annually to the student-athlete who by his/her outstanding athletic achievement has brought the highest level of national and regional attention to the athletic program of PBU. The recipient shall have completed a minimum of three seasons of competition at PBU in the qualifying sport, maintain a reputation for a high level of sportsmanship and Christian character, and be making satisfactory academic progress.

Justin Brubaker

Jade Brubaker, Men's Volleyball Head Coach: "Justin has gained national recognition as an All-American these past three years. Though one player is not above the team, Justin has consistently carried our team to new heights. Through his desire to honor the Lord with his efforts, determination, and encouragement of others he has proven to be a great leader, helping our team to highest national ranking ever at number four."
