LANGHORNE, PA – The Department of Athletics is pleased to announce that Justin Brubaker (Telford, PA) picked up both NEVCA and Western Division Player of the Week honors for the span ending February 28.
The current national leaders in kills per set, Brubaker dominated throughout the past week, averaging 7.54 spikes per game and 8.35 points per set while tallying a .300 hitting percentage. The two-time AVCA All-American posted 34 kills during a 3-1 win over 5th ranked Medaille College, marking the second time this year and fourth time in his career he's surpassed the 30 kill barrier during a single match.
Proving to be multi-dimensional, Brubaker also got the job done defensively, charting 3.31 digs per game during a 3-1 week overall for eighth-ranked PBU. He also managed four service aces – tying his second highest output this year - during the Crimson Eagles’ duel with fourth-ranked Baruch College this past Saturday.
It signals the second time in Brubaker’s career that he’s been named the NECVA Player of the Week and seventh time he’s been honored by the Western Division with the weekly award.
Following a 3-0 drubbing over Eastern Mennonite University on Tuesday, the Crimson Eagles will return to the Mason Activity Center this Friday for a tilt with D’Youville College at 7:00 pm.
