CLARKS SUMMIT, PA -
When you manage to coax the opposition into 26 turnovers, it almost always signals a win.

Unless, of course, you end the contest with 35 cough-ups of your own.

The above scenario unfolded Thursday evening for a helpless Crimson Eagle squad that ended their much anticipated match-up with Baptist Bible College with nearly as many giveaways (35) as field goal attempts (37), meaning PBU turned the ball over on nearly half of the group's 72 possessions for the night.

With struggles containing the Defenders on the defensive glass as well - Baptist finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds - it's a feat in itself that the visitors managed to keep the final tally within seven as BBC held on for a 56-49 triumph down the stretch.

Baptist would make sure to capitalize on PBU's blunders, smothering the Crimson Eagles with a 17-3 edge in points off PBU miscues throughout the first half alone. The Defenders would also end play with a 12-6 advantage in second chance points for the game as both statistics helped guide the host squad to their first CSAC triumph of the season.

Junior guard Careth Herron paved the way offensively for PBU, spouting off for 20 points on 6 of 11 shooting for the game. Senior Dani Norton added 12 points and seven boards, and classmate Lindsey Forwalt chipped in with eight and nine, respectively. Lisa Garner managed to collect seven points and six rebounds to round things out.

PBU drops to 3-13 on the year while Baptist Bible moves to 2-12.

The Crimson Eagles will resume conference play this Saturday when the group hosts Rosemont College at 12:30 pm in the Mason Activity Center.
