LANGHORNE, PA – Philadelphia Biblical University Director of Athletics Drew Watson announced Thursday that the Crimson Eagle field hockey program will be discontinued as an intercollegiate sport, effective immediately.
“The University reached this difficult decision after considering all factors involved,” said Watson. “We have been struggling to generate the interest and recruiting classes needed to maintain a competitive program. As the University attempts to contain costs during the next year it became apparent that maintaining a commitment to field hockey would be unwise under these conditions.”
Watson and Assistant Director of Athletics, Julie Brubaker, met with the field hockey student-athletes to announce the decision on Thursday.
